Remington Blair enters his third season in 2021-22 after joining the La Salle University track and field program as an assistant coach in January of 2020. Blair's primary responsibilities focus on the men's and women's jumps and sprints.
In just his second season, Blair guided Dennis Manyeah to a historic season in the high jump, finishing as a Second Team All-American. Manyeah broke the Atlantic 10 Championship high jump record on his way to conference gold outdoors and tied his school record with a jump of 2.16 meters at regionals to qualify for the NCAA Outdoor National Championships. In his first season with the Explorers, Blair mentored Darian Alston to his second consecutive Atlantic 10 title in the triple jump during the indoor season.
Blair came to La Salle after spending two years in a similar position as an assistant coach at the University of Northern Colorado in the Big Sky Conference. While with the Bears, he worked closely with the men's and women's jumps events.
Prior to Northern Colorado, Blair spent the 2016 and 2017 seasons as a volunteer assistant coach at Fresno State. A former track star during his collegiate days as a student-athlete at Fresno, Blair returned to his alma mater to coach the men's and women's sprints, hurdles and relays. He also spent three years coaching the track and field teams at San Joaquin Memorial High School in Fresno, including one season as head coach.
During his collegiate days, Blair was a two-year letterwinner in track at Fresno State. He was a two-time NCAA outdoor preliminary qualifier in the 400 meters and won a WAC title in the 4x400-meter relay.
Blair holds multiple USA Track and Field certifications and earned his bachelor's in philosophy from Fresno State in May of 2012.
