Chris Dunn began his rowing career as a freshman at Drexel University. As a novice he earned a seat in the Freshman Heavy 8 that went on to win gold at The Dad Vail Regatta. As he progressed through his rowing career, he moved up boats, stroking the Varsity 8 in his final year at Drexel, receiving the Most Valuable Oarsmen Award. As a team, the Dragons were highly competitive and Dunn rowed in the finals at Dad Vail's in three of four years.

His coaching career starts with the freshman men at Drexel for a year, then moving on to coach the men's club program at Villanova University, where he stayed for three years. After taking time off to enjoy the birth of his first child, Dunn returned to Boathouse Row by taking the position with La Salle in 2004.

Professionally, Dunn graduated from Temple University with a Bachelor's of Science in Exercise Physiology and is employed at Frankford Hospital as an Exercise Physiologist in the Cardiac Rehab and Wellness Center.
