Zachary Lefever

Zachary Lefever joined the La Salle coaching staff in December 2024 after serving as an assistant coach at Binghamton University, Westfield State University, and the University of Massachusetts Amherst over the course of three years. The 2025-26 season will mark his second season as an assistant coach of the Explorers. 

In his most recent coaching stint, Lefever coached America East champions in the women's DMR, 4x800-meter relays, steeplechase, and the men's 5k events at Binghamton for the 2023-24 track and field season. Before his time at Binghamton, he was the assistant cross country coach at Westfield State University for the 2023 season, where he helped lead both the men’s and women’s teams to MASCAC Championship titles that year. Prior to that, Lefever worked as an assistant coach at the University of Massachusetts Amherst for a year. At his time there, Lefever coached the 2022 men’s cross country and 2022-23 women’s indoor track & field teams that won NEICAAA Championships titles.

Lefever was a four-year cross country and track & field athlete for the Panthers, finishing his collegiate career in 2021. During his career, Lefever earned All-Mid Atlantic Regional Cross Country honors in the 2019 season, was a two-time outdoor Division I national qualifier in the steeplechase, and was a two-time indoor NEICAAA Champion (mile and distance medley relay team). In addition, he won four conference medals in track & field, including individual wins in the steeplechase and the indoor 3k.

A native of Ephrata, PA, Lefever earned a Bachelor of Arts from the University of Pittsburgh in 2021, and a Masters of Architecture from the University of Massachusetts Amherst in 2023. He is a current member of the Boston Athletic Association (BAA) racing team.
