PHILADELPHIA- The next athlete featured in GoExplorers.com's "Getting to Know" series is softball junior Heather Brabazon. Brabazon is in her second season with the Explorers after transfering from Saint Joseph's University following her freshman year. A native of Bensalem, PA, Brabazon is working on a degree in Marketing. This season, Brabazon has started in 19 games, with 12 of them being in center field. Earlier this season when the Explorers were at the Under Armour Showcase in Tampa, Fla., Brabazon had a 2-for-4 game against Boston University in which she contibuted with three runs batted in and a run scored. In Atlantic 10 Conference play, Brabazon's best outing this season was in game two with the Saint Louis Billikens back on March 19. In that game, she went 2-for-3 with a double and La Salle's only run scored.

Why did you choose La Salle: A lot of my high school friends/fellow St. Huberts' Bambies went here and it was close to home.
Describe yourself in one word: Sociable
Why did you pick your jersey number?: My favorite number is 42 and 2 is in it and available, so luckily I was given that.
What has been your favorite moment as a La Salle softball player?: My first game I played for La Salle. We were in Florida and I played well-Blasted a triple off the top of the fence, had a single and and a sac bunt, going 2-for-3 in my debut as an Explorer!
When did you start playing softball?: When I was five for my Uncle Dan.
What do you like to do in your spare time/ other campus activities?: I participate in Big Brothers Big Sisters and visit my little Zakirah once a week. I enjoy going to Phillies games and concerts with family and friends.
What do you like best about La Salle?: Having all of my buds here with me.
What's on your iPod right now?: Pink-"Funhouse"
Best away game road trip memory: Florida
One phrase to describe Coach Brown: Bomb diggity!
People might be surprised to know that… In my past life I was Serena Williams.
What is the best advice you have received?: If you never ask, you never get it.
Goals for the 2011 season: For the team to make it to A-10 playoffs wioth a .500 record or better and for myself to lead the team in singles.
Who influenced you to get involved with softball?: My sister always looked up to her. Also, my parents were athletes.
Who is your funniest teammate?: Emily Moran and Kati Cooper
