Meghan McGlinchey has been named GoExplorers.com Student-Athlete of the Week for December 9. McGlinchey clocked a 15:53.74 in the 5K on Saturday at the Jack Pyrah Invitational, breaking Sheryl Reid's 27-year old school record (16:21.10) by nearly 28 seconds.

She finished first in the event, a full minute and forty-two seconds ahead of the second place finisher.

The West Deptford, N.J. native is the first La Salle women's runner in history to break 16:00 for indoor or outdoor in the 5K and is currently ranked fourth nationally in the event.
