Redshirt junior guard Alicia Cropper earned her first career Atlantic 10 Player of the Week honor on Monday after a career-high output in the Explorers' win at George Washington on Saturday. For her accomplishments last week, she has been selected as the La Salle Student-Athlete of the Week.
Cropper exploded for 32 points on 11-for-18 shooting, including going 5-for-7 from long range, while playing all 40 minutes in the team's 77-68 road win at the Smith Center. She drained 19 of those in the first half to help the squad take a five-point lead into the half, and then rose late in the game to squelch a Colonial comeback attempt.
Her 32 points obliterates her previous career high of 23, set in the team's win over VCU on Jan. 8.
Cropper added a game-high-tying five assists in the game to help the team post 16 helpers, well above its 9.9 apg average.
Cropper and the rest of the squad look to continue its winning ways on Wednesday when the Explorers host Richmond at 7 p.m.
