Club Sports

Club Sports are a vital part of student life at La Salle. Club Sports provide students with the opportunity to compete with other schools in a variety sports. La Salle University club sports are student-run, student led sport based organizations that are overseen by the Department of Intercollegiate Athletics and Recreation.

Club Sports are at La Salle's campus for Spring 2023. We are searching for strong leadership, motivated players, and an opportunity to build a strong nucleus of friends and competition. Looking for a student with personality and enduring motivation student to come lead our programs that are currently vacated. If you have what it takes, I invite you to sign on.

Ice Hockey 

Ice Hockey is a 6v6 game on ice. Players wear skates and attempt to play offense and defense. When on offense, players will attempt to score using a hockey stick. When on defense the defending team will attempt to stop the offense from scoring a goal. Goalies attempt to stop the puck from entering the net they are guarding. When it comes to the club Ice Hockey within La Salle, La Salle ice hockey club competes at the Division I club level. La Salle University’s club Ice hockey team currently play in the Skate Zone, located in Philadelphia PA. Soccer (Men) 

Soccer is an 11v11 game played on a grass/turf field. Teams come up with a formation for their team to play in during the game. Players on offense will attempt to kick the ball through the soccer goal. Players on defense will attempt to stop the offense from shooting/scoring. The goalie’s objective is to try and save the shot from going in once the offense has shot the ball. When it comes to the club Men’s Soccer within La Salle, La Salle Men’s Soccer club competes at the Division I club level. La Salle University’s club Men’s Soccer currently play in McCarthy Stadium, located in Philadelphia PA. Lacrosse (Men)

Players use lacrosse sticks throughout the game and attempt to shoot the ball into the net and past the goalie. Players will use their stick to pass to their teammates and shoot the ball into the net. The team that scores the most goals at the end of the game will be the winner of the game. Lacrosse is a physical game that allows body checking and stick poking the opponent. When it comes to the Men’s Lacrosse club within La Salle, La Salle Men’s Lacrosse club competes at the Division I club level. La Salle University’s club Men’s Lacrosse team currently play in McCarthy Stadium, located in Philadelphia PA. Baseball 

Baseball is an 9v9 game with one team on offense and one team on defense. Once the defense gets three outs the teams will swap sides. When on defense the team will pitch the ball to the batter and attempt to get him out. The team on offense will attempt to hit the ball into the field and try to score runs. The team with more runs after the game is over will win the game. When it comes to club Baseball within La Salle, La Salle Baseball club competes at the Division I club level. La Salle University’s club Baseball team currently play in DeVincent Field located in Philadelphia PA. Rugby (Men)

Rugby has two teams playing against each other. Each team is always trying to have the ball go past the opponent's goal line and touch the ground to score. When players pass the ball, it can only go behind them. Rugby is a very physical sport where players will tackle the opponents to try and force a drop. When it comes to the club Men’s Rugby within La Salle, La Salle Men’s Rugby club competes at the Division I club level. La Salle University’s club women’s Rugby currently play in McCarthy Stadium, located in Philadelphia PA. Men’s Volleyball 

The objective is to hit the ball over the net and gain points. Members will work as a team to hit the ball over the net. Players are not able to catch the ball, or they will lose the point. The team with the most points at the end will win the game. La Salle Men’s Volleyball club competes at the Division I club level. La Salle University’s club Men’s Volleyball currently practice at Trumark's Tom Gola Arena, located in Philadelphia PA. La Salle Recreation also offers students the opportunity to stay active through several Recreational Clubs. These clubs do not belong to a national organization, or compete for championships, but regularly meet and enjoy their sport at their own leisure.

Tennis 

Tennis can be played either 1v1 or 2v2. When playing 2v2 the court gets bigger, and the ball can be played in bounds more than the 1v1 court. Players will attempt to score a point by getting the ball past their opponent 4 times in a round before their opponent. The player with the most points at the end of the round will win the match. When it comes to the club Tennis within La Salle, La Salle Tennis club competes at the Division I club level. La Salle University’s club Tennis team currently play in Belfield Tennis Court, located in Philadelphia PA. Swimming 

The swimming club is all about getting in shape and competing in competitive swim meets against other teams. When it comes to the club Swimming within La Salle, La Salle Swimming club competes at the Division I club level. Ski Club 

Players will race against other teams down the slope. Players will also train to become better skiers. When it comes to the club Ski within La Salle, La Salle Ski Club competes at the Division I club level. La Salle University’s Ski Club team currently play in Blue Mountain located in Philadelphia PA. Power Lifting 

People will compete in a competitive lifting club against other teams. Members train with each other and compete against other schools in power lifting. When it comes to the club Power Lifting within La Salle, La Salle Power Lifting club competes at the Division I club level. La Salle University’s club Power Lifting team currently play in IBC Fitness Center located in Philadelphia PA. Running Club 

Members will be a part of meets where they race against other teams and attempt to win the race. Members will practice and train to get in better shape and become faster. La Salle Running club competes at the Division I club level. La Salle University’s club Running team currently practice on Wetzler Track (attached to McCarthy stadium) and Forbidden drive, Kelly drive, located in Philadelphia PA.
