John McCarthy made 25 saves over the weekend to help the Explorers to a 1-0-1 weekend in Atlantic 10 play. He stopped a career-high 14 shots in a 2-1 double overtime win over Rhode Island before snagging his fourth shutout of the season and 12th of his career in a scoreless draw with UMass.

He ranks first in the Atlantic 10 in saves and saves per game, and is second in save percentage.

He earned Atlantic 10 Co-Player of the Week honors this week.

McCarthy has helped the Explorers to a 4-1-3 record in their last eight games.
