La Salle junior Johan Roth has been named the GoExplorers.com Student-Athlete of the Week for his performance at the Atlantic 10 Championships last week.
Roth Won gold and set the new Atlantic 10 conference and meet record in the 200-yard breaststroke, clocking a 1:57.12 to best a 14-year old record held by Massachusett's Billy Brown (1:58.66). Roth, who had set the standing school record (1:58.83) during the morning preliminary, recorded an NCAA B Cut with the effort.
The Western Cape, South Africa native earned bronze and broke his own school record by swimming a 54.96 in the final of the 100-yard breaststroke, which was also good for an NCAA B Cut.Â
Roth also finished 5th in the 200-yard IM, notching a B-Cut time of 1:49.90.
