Junior Ashley Felton was named GoExplorers.com Athlete of the Week after helping lead La Salle to a second place finish in the Tribe Invitational over the weekend. Felton lead the tournament with a .333 hitting percentage and finished third in kills averaging 2.73 per set and finishing with 30 for the tournament. On Friday against Norfolk State she amassed 13 kills on only 23 swings with no errors on her way to a .565 hitting percentage while adding six total blocks in the win. She added eight kills against William & Mary and wrapped up the weekend with a nine kills performance against Gardner-Webb. The Gambrills, Maryland native and the rest of the Explorers host Lafayette Tuesday night in their home opener before hitting the road for the New Orleans Invitational.
