Fia Jonsson of women’s soccer has been named GoExplorers.com Athlete of the Week after tallying six points as the Explorers picked up road wins at Navy and James Madison over the weekend. 

The senior scored the game-winning goal against JMU on Sunday, converting a penalty kick in the 49th minute after assisting Marykate Bateman’s game-tying goal minutes earlier. 

Jonnsson assisted the game-winning goal in Friday’s win over Navy before tallying a goal of her own in the 73rd minute.
