The men's novice four rowed to gold for the second straight week, besting the likes of Michigan and Maryland along the way to lead La Salle crew at the Occoquan Sprints on Sunday. For their effort, the rowers in the novice four have been selected as La Salle's Student-Athletes of the Week.
The quintet - Nick McGloin, Gary Stinson, Kent Horsley, Jack Schall and coxswain Monica Bradley - clocked a 6:20.40, over 10 seconds ahead of second place William & Mary (6:30.67). Michigan came in third, followed by Maryland and Virginia Commonwealth.
The gold marked the second straight for the boat, which won its race at the Murphy Cup the week prior.
