Zenszer One of Three Entering Big 5 Hall of Fame

PHILADELPHIA - Former La Salle University Women's Basketball player Jen Zenszer (1997-2001) will be one of three people inducted into the Philadelphia Big 5 Hall of Fame in a ceremony Thursday at The Palestra. The other members of the Class of 2006 include long time Palestra and Big 5 Announcer John McAdams and University of Pennsylvania's Diana Caramanic.

Zenszer becomes the 13th La Salle women's player inducted into the Hall of Fame and the first one since current Associate Head Coach Chrissie (Donahue) Doogan entered with the Class of 2002.

During her playing days, Zenszer was named a 2001 Verizon Third Team Academic All-American - only the third female at the school to garner to award - and amassed 1,290 career points, good for 10th place on the school's all-time list at the time of graduation.

She graduated as La Salle's all-time leader in made threes (now second - 174) and three-pointers attempted (now third - 470). Currently, she is still in the top 10 all-time in career scoring average (10 - 12.3); three-point percentage (8 - 37.0); free throws made (4 - 402); free throws attempted (5 - 540); defensive rebounds (2 - 454); and steals (8 - 170).

Zenszer led the Explorers to their last Big 5 Championship in 1997-98 and was a four-time All-Big 5 Team Member and captained La Salle for three seasons. In her sophomore season, she became the first Explorer to lead the team in points (382), rebounds (212) and assists (111).

The three honorees will also be honored at halftime of the Saint Joseph's-Penn game on Saturday, January 27, 2007 at The Palestra. For more information please contact Meaghann Schulte, Associate Director of the Big 5, at the Philadelphia Big 5 office at 215-898-4747.
