The La Salle men's cross country team ran a B squad at the Lafayette Invitational less than 24 hours after some of the top Explorer runners finished 1st overall at the Penn State Invitational in State College, PA.
The top finishers for the men were seniors James Holzwarth (Willow Grove, PA) in 43rd-place with a time of 27:17.9 and Joseph Brancaleone (Gloucester, MA) in 58th-place in a time of 27:35.2.
Explorer four-time All-American Sean Quigley (Braintree, MA) ran unattached in the race and finished 1st overall with a time of 24:27.2, followed closely by another unattached La Salle runner Joseph Dare (Souderton, PA) in 2nd-place with a time of 25:21.2. These finishes did not count towards team points.
The other finishers on the La Salle roster included:sophomore Justin Keller (New Cumberland, PA) (69th) in 27:47, sophomore Rollin Deas (Verona, NJ)(87th) in 28:36, junior Sean Doyle (North Wales, PA) (97th) in 28:54, sophomore Mark Del Monaco (Scotch Plains, NJ) (124th) in 29:52, Mike Roethel (125th) in 30:00, and Kevin Brightbill (137th) in 31:35.
Next up for the Explorers is a week off before heading to the Atlantic 10 Championships held right in Philadelphia at the Belmont Plateau on Saturday, October 27th.
