Explorers Suffer Eight Straight Loss

Oct. 20, 2007

Box Score

The La Salle volleyball team continued to struggle in Atlantic 10 play, as the blue and gold suffered a 3-0 loss to the Fordham Rams on Saturday afternoon. The Rams put away the Explorers, winning game one by a score of 30-16, game two by 30-24, and taking the third game by a slim 30-28 margin.

Fordham opened the match by winning game one in convincing fashion, but La Salle put up a fight in the final two games. The Explorers fell behind in game number two by a 12-6 score, but kills from Rachel Stemper and Amy McKeon, along with two consecutive service aces from Kayla Beck, put La Salle back in it.

La Salle looked to force a fourth game, as they held a late 25-23 lead. The Rams would battle back however, escaping with a narrow 30-28 win.

McKeon led La Salle with seven kills, while Jackie Kushman added six. Erin Sullivan racked up 15 digs.

The Explorers will play their second straight match in the Big Apple on Tuesday night, when they head to Staten Island to take on Wagner at 8:00 p.m.
