Explorers Let One Get Away

Jackie Kushman and Danielle DiMarco each had double-doubles, but the La Salle volleyball team fell to Charlotte by a 3-1 score on Homecoming Saturday at Tom Gola Arena.

 

Kushman had 11 kills and 15 digs, while DiMarco matched her 11 kills to go along with 14 digs. Christa Dominick added 10 kills and six blocks in the loss. Carly Conlon had 25 assists and nine digs, while Erin Sullivan contributed 20 assists and eight kills.

 

The Explorers came out strong in this one, jumping all over the 49ers in game one. La Salle held Charlotte to an .088 hitting percentage in the game, winning by a 30-20 score. Game two was a completely different story, as Charlotte hit for .514 in a 30-17 rout. Both teams would battle it out over the last two games, but the 49ers came away slim winners, taking games three and four by 33-31 scores.

 

For Charlotte, Alma Arroyo had 32 kills, while Eden Ramos dished out 60 assists. The 49ers improved to 13-12 (3-7) on the year. La Salle falls to 10-21 (1-10) with the loss.

 

The Explorers will have the next 11 days off, before returning to action against Temple at home on November 8th.
