At Rider, the La Salle Explorers Tennis team won a 4-3 decision Tuesday to improve their record on the season to 6-2.

 

The Explorers came out strong and won the doubles point. At number one, Jon Maula and George Gennaoui won an 8-3 decision. At number two, Ryan Knarr and Andy Petrusky lost 9-7, while Matt Rivera and Eric Glick prevailed 9-7.

 

In singles, Gennaoui lost at number one in three sets, 6-4, 5-7, 6-4, while Matt Rivera prevailed at number two, 4-6, 7-5, 6-1. Eric Glick was downed 6-1, 7-5 at number three, while sophomore Jon Maula won at number four, 6-1, 6-3. At number five, Andy Petrusky lost 4-6, 6-3, 6-3, in a long match that lasted until darkness fell at Rider. Chris Butera won 6-3, 6-0 at number six.

 

The Explorers return to action Thursday versus Philadelphia University.
