The La Salle volleyball team's struggles continued on Tuesday night, as the Explorers dropped a 3-0 decision to city-rival Temple.

 

Jackie Kushman led La Salle with 12 kills, while Christa Dominick and Danielle DiMarco each chipped in with eight apiece.

 

The aforementioned trio combined to hit .279 for the match; however, the remaining players struggled, as the Explorers managed to hit just .131 as a team.

 

DiMarco and Kayla Beck each had 11 digs. Erin Sullivan contributed a match-high 21 assists for the Explorers, who fell to 9-14 overall and 1-4 in the Atlantic 10.

 

The Owls dominated game one, winning 30-18. La Salle would put up a fight in games three and four, but ultimately fell, 30-27 and 30-26, respectively.

 

Yun Yi Zhang, recently named the A-10 Rookie of the Week, led Temple with a match-high 20 kills. Sun Ying Ling led all players with 16 digs.

 

The Explorers return to Tom Gola Arena this Friday night when they host Saint Louis. Match time is a 7 p.m.
