Student Athlete Advisory Committee (SAAC) shows the true holiday spirit

Dec. 5, 2007

Philadelphia, PA- On Tuesday, holiday cheer was given to the patients of St. Christopher's Hospital for Children with help from the members of the Student Athlete Advisory Committee. (SAAC) The committee collected stuffed animals to hand out to the patients of the children's hospital.

The members of SAAC had a goal to collect as many stuffed animals as possible to bring holiday spirit to children who may spend their holidays in the hospital. Throughout the entire month of November, student athletes went above and beyond their expectations and, on Tuesday, December 4, were able to donate 150 stuffed animals to the children's hospital.

SAAC is a student-athlete organization that provides input to the NCAA on rules and regulations as well as building the overall student-athlete experience. La Salle SAAC is also holding a food drive for PhilAbundance, the Delaware Valley hunger relief organization, which started in mid-November and will run until December 13th, feeding those in need for the holidays.

If you are interested in donating any non-perishable goods, there is a drop box in the lobby of the Hayman Center.
