CINCINNATI, OH - Senior Crista Ricketts scored a game-high 17 points and grabbed nine boards, but Dayton's hot first-half shooting was too much to overcome and the Flyers take the A-10 opening round tournament game, 57-43.

Dayton (12-18) hit 53.8% from the floor in the first half (14-26) while the Explorers were limited to just 18.5% (5-27) as the Flyers built a 33-17 halftime advantage.

La Salle (19-11) scored the first basket of the game, by junior Carlene Hightower, but after that the Flyers went on a 21-6 run to open up a double-digit lead with just over nine minutes left before the break.

The Explorers were never able to get the deficit under 10 the rest of the way.
