JACKSONVILLE, FL - Freshman John Malloy gave the La Salle University Baseball team a 4-2 lead in the sixth inning with a two-out two-RBI single, but Jacksonville scored 12 unanswered runs to cruise to a 14-4 victory to split the series two games to two.
Jacksonville (7-10) jumped out to a 1-0 lead with a run in the first inning off La Salle starter Drew Gerhart, but managed just one unearned run over the next four innings.
The Explorers answered with two runs in the third, one on an RBI-single by Rich Prall and Davis Hewitt drove in the other. In the fourth, Malloy plated TJ Chism and George Papuchis with a two-out single to left.
The lead was short-lived, as the Dolphins responded with four runs in the bottom of the frame, then tacked on eight in the bottom of the eighth to secure the victory.
La Salle (4-4) will take on Bethune-Cookman, Tuesday, at 3 PM.
