Distance Runners Fair Well at Princeton; Medina, Moseley and Rendall Win at Widener

Princeton, NJ -  Explorer distance runner competed in the Larry Ellis Invitational hosted by Princeton University Friday night and came back with a host ECAC/IC4A qualifiers and three more NCAA regional qualifications.

The sensational duo of Sean Quigley and Rachel Papin were joined by John Butler in qualifiying for the NCAA regionals in the 1500-meter race.

Quigley finished second in the race with a time of 3:43.95 with Butler crossing the line three positions later with 3:45.50.  Quigley's time was the second-best in school history behind Brian Gallagher's time of just over 3:42 set in 1998.

Papin earned her qualification with a 4:26.66 which gave her a second place finish.

All three runners' times qualified them for the ECAC and IC4A Championships

Also qualifying for the ECAC championships was Carolyn Lipovsky who finished in ninth place with a time of 4:29.58.

Kathryn Dobransky set a school record in the steeple-chase with a time 11:02.49 for an eighth-place finish.

AT WIDENER: Ryan Moseley won the 100 meter dash in a time of 10.78 and Steve Rendall took first in the 110 hurdles in 14.84.

Also winning their event was the men's 4x100 relay team and Orestes Medina who took the long jump with a leap of 6.88m.

Meanwhile, junior Giovanna Finocchio set a school record and finished second in the javelin with a hurl of 38:60

Jennifer Surabian finished second in the 800m clocking a time of 2:15.97 while teammate Meaghan Hobson finished third in the 400-meter dash with a time of 57.70.

Also scoring a third place finish was Kim McIntosh whose time of 15:12 had her crossing the line in third place in the 100m hurdles.

Both the womens 4x100 and 4x400 relay teams took second place in their events with times of 48:63 and 4:00.96 respectively.
