The United States Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association has named Explorer Sean Quigley (Braintree, MA/Archbishop Williams) its Division I Mid Atlantic District Athlete of the Year for 2007.

 

Quigley, who will compete in the 10,000-meter event at the NCAA Championship meet on Wednesday in Sacramento, CA, is a three-time All-American including two such honors in cross country and one attained at this year's indoor championships where he finished seventh in the 5,000m.

 

Quigley also qualified nationally for the 5,000m after winning the event at the Atlantic 10 Outdoor Championships in Charlotte, NC but will run in the 10,000m at nationals.

 

Quigley earned his 10,000m qualification by posting a time of 28:29.16 at the Stanford Invitational in April.

 

Quigley retains one season of eligibility in indoor and outdoor track and will return for a final season at

La Salle.
