The La Salle volleyball team suffered their second consecutive setback at the Temple Invitational with a 3-0 loss to Akron. The Zips took the games with scores of 22-30, 26-30 and 27-30.

 

La Salle's Erin Sullivan posted a team-high 10 kills in the defeat, while fellow senior Stephanie Owen hit for a team-high .375. Junior Christa Dominick chipped in with eight kills and hit for .316. Freshman Kayla Beck tallied a team-high 17 digs.

 

Brionna Patterson paced the Zips with a game-high 21 kills. Jennifer Stewart recorded 18 digs for Akron.

 

With the loss, La Salle drops to 0-2 on the young season.

 

The Explorers look to get on track tomorrow in the second day of the tournament. They will take on Rider at 9:00 a.m. before finishing with Lehigh at 3:00 p.m.
