The La Salle volleyball team won one and lost one on the second day of the 2007 La Salle Invitational.

Loyola edged the Explorers in their opening match of the day, 3-2. Sophomore Danielle DiMarco posted a double-double, recording 15 kills and 19 digs, both team-highs. Christa Dominick added 14 kills while hitting .414.

Loyola jumped all over La Salle early in the game, taking a commanding 14-6 lead. The Explorers battled back to eventually take a 23-22 lead. Dominick's second kill of the game sealed a 30-27 victory for the blue and gold.

La Salle dropped the next two games, 30-21 and 30-27.

The Explorers battled back however, taking game number four by a 30-25 mark and forcing the decisive fifth game. Unfortunately La Salle could not get on track and fell to the Greyhounds, 15-7.

In their second match of the day, La Salle earned a three-game sweep of Lafayette. Senior Erin Sullivan paced the Explorers with 17 kills. Freshman Kayla Beck tallied 24 digs, while notching five service aces.

The two teams battled back-and-forth in game one. The Explorers held a 25-19 lead, but Lafayette stormed back to knot the score at 29-29. Sullivan's kill eventually gave La Salle a hard-fought 33-31 win.

The Explorers would fall behind in game two, trailing by 19-14 at one point. Down but not out, La Salle rallied to earn a 30-25 victory, thanks in part to kills from Sullivan and Rachel Stemper.

La Salle took game three by a 30-23 score and earned the sweep of the Leopards.

Beck earned a spot on the All-Tournament team for her fine play over the four games. The complete team is as follows:

Tournament MVP: Bridget Scheetz (UMBC)

Ashley Oscars (UMBC)

Kim Mendoza (St. Peter's)

Rachel Schillinger (Loyola)

Kayla Beck (La Salle)

Kayly Elmer (Lafayette)
