Box Score
The La Salle field hockey team has once again fallen victim to an overtime defeat, losing to Hofstra on Saturday in double-OT, 3-2. The Explorers suffered their first lost of 2007 on Wednesday to Drexel, also losing 3-2 in overtime.
Kara Harpel gave the Explorers a 1-0 lead 19 minutes into the contest with her third goal of the season.
The lead wouldn't last long however, as Brit Blankmeyer scored two goals in less than 10 minutes to give the Pride a 2-1 lead going into the half.
The score would remain 2-1 until midway through the second half when Beth Carey found Maria Allegretto who drove home the game-tying goal.
Neither team was able to score in the remaining 10 minute of regulation, so the teams headed to overtime tied at 2-2.
After a scoreless first overtime, Hofstra's Charlia Warner found Pemba Ramdoo who scored the game-winner two minutes into the second bonus frame.
Ellen Axelsen finished with four saves for the Explorers, who were outshot by Hofstra, 12-10.
La Salle looks to bounce back tomorrow when they take on Sacred Heart in the tournament's final day.
