BETHLEHEM, PA - The La Salle field hockey team continued its rollercoaster season on Friday afternoon, falling to Lehigh, 3-1.
Colleen Lechner scored the lone goal for the Explorers, who fell to 5-5 on the year. Ellen Axelsen recorded three saves and Kelly Dougherty picked up an assist for the blue and gold.
For Lechner, it was her fifth goal of the season.
La Salle was again denied in their attempt to go two games over .500 for the first time since August 28th. The Explorers haven't won consecutive games since they beat Monmouth and Ball State to open the season.
La Salle outshot Lehigh 10-8, but Jessica Miller turned away seven shots for the Mountain Hawks.
The Explorers return to action on Sunday when they travel to the western part of the state to take on Saint Francis at 1 p.m.
