PHILADELPHIA -The La Salle volleyball team fell victim to a 3-0 defeat at the hands of the Princeton Tigers on Tuesday evening.
Senior Stephanie Owen led the Explorers with nine kills, while sophomore Danielle DiMarco added eight.
Princeton took game one by a 30-22 score. Owen notched five kills in the game.
La Salle would take an early lead in the second game before Princeton battled back to gain a 16-14 advantage. The Explorers fought back to regain the lead at 27-26, but the Tigers would win the seesaw battle, 30-28.
In game number three, the Explorers raced out to a 9-3 lead. The Tigers would once again battle back, going up 17-16. Princeton would not look back, as they held the lead for the remainder of the game, winning 30-24 to finish off the sweep.
Kayla Beck, who leads the Atlantic 10 in digs, tallied 14 in the loss.
Erin Sullivan chipped in with 30 assists for the Explorers, who fell to 8-10 on the season.
La Salle opens up conference play this Friday evening when they travel south to take on Charlotte at 7 p.m.
