La Salle Falls to Penn, 2-0

Oct. 12, 2008

Box Score

PHILADELPHIA - Penn's Kristin Kaiser scored a pair of goals five minutes apart to lift the visiting Quakers to a 2-0 victory over La Salle Women's Soccer in its final non-conference match of the season at McCarthy Stadium on Sunday afternoon.

Kaiser took a short pass from Marin McDermott on the right side of the field and shot near post just 9:39 into the game to give Penn the early 1-0 lead.

At the 14:05 mark, she scored again - her fifth of the season, taking a pass from Sarah Friedman on the right side again and sent a looping shot to the far post, which found the back of the net.

Penn (7-3-2) split its goalies time, as Sara Rose and Caroline Williams each played 45 minutes. Rose made three saves in the first half, while Williams matched her with three saves in the second half.

La Salle (5-7-2) had scoring chances, but a pair of shots hit the crossbar and the Explorers could not capitalize on six corner kicks, including four in the second half.

In net for the Explorers was Amy Grant, who stopped five shots, but suffered the loss.

La Salle will be on the road next week, but will still be in the city as they take on Temple on Friday at 3 PM, and Saint Joseph's on Sunday at 1 PM.
