DePasquale Nets Goal in 1-1 Tie at Temple

AMBLER, PA - In the 18th minute, junior Traci DePasquale scored her 20th career goal for the Explorers, however La Salle Women's Soccer and the host Temple Owls battled to a 1-1 draw on Friday afternoon in Atlantic 10 action at the Temple Sports Complex.

DePasquale's goal came off a double assist from Heather Steadman and Carissa Philips and was scored at the 17:47 mark in the first half. For Steadman, it was her 12th career helper, which is tied for ninth all-time on La Salle's career list.

La Salle (5-7-3, 1-3-2 A-10) came out in the second half and pressed to get an insurance goal, outshooting the Owls 9-2 and getting six corner kicks. However, they were unable to increase their lead.

Temple (2-8-4, 0-3-3 A-10) was able to knot the game up in the 84th minute on a goal by Jenna Rankin off an assist from Kelly Diviny.

The Owls' goalie Kara Williams made seven saves in the game, four in the second half to keep her team within a goal. La Salle's goalie Melissa Sanger made six saves in the contest, three in the second overtime to preserve the tie.

The Explorers are next in action, again taking on a Philadelphia school, travelling to Saint Joseph's on Sunday with a 1 PM start.
