Explorers Fall to George Washington on Senior Day, 3-0

Philadelphia, PA – On Senior Day at Tom Gola Arena, the La Salle volleyball team looked to win one for the seniors, however, the Colonials of George Washington went on to win the match, 3-0 (25-21, 25-20, 25-18).

The seniors took part in a pregame ceremony where they were acknowledged for their four years of commitment to the La Salle volleyball program. Each senior was escorted to the court by their parents.

Seniors Tammi Jones, Jackie Kushman, Amy McKeon and Christa Dominick made the most out of their final home match of their collegiate careers. Dominick recorded a .467 hitting percentage (9-2-15), a match-high tying three assisted blocks, a team-high tying two service aces, three assists and two digs. Jones tallied a match-high 14 digs and Kushman totaled four kills, nine digs and a team-high tying two service aces. McKeon led everyone with four total blocks on the afternoon.

Sophomore Carly Conlon and freshman Kourtney Clark combined for 24 of their team’s 34 assists.

For the Colonials, freshman Alyssa Valentine contributed a match-high 34 assists along with seven digs and senior Maggie Wright posted a team-high 11 digs. Like Valentine, senior Liz Moult also recorded a match-high with 11 kills while adding a match-high tying three assisted blocks.

The Explorers (5-19, 1-8) are on the road for the rest of the season starting with Lehigh on Tuesday, October 21.
