Explorers Fall to Fordham on Halloween, 3-1

Bronx, NY - The La Salle volleyball team won the third set against Fordham on Friday, but it was too late as the Rams went on to win on Halloween, 3-1 (18-25, 18-25, 25-23, 9-25).

Senior Amy McKeon posted a .438 hitting percentage (9-2-16) while also contributing a match-high tying three assisted blocks. Senior Christa Dominick was the second participant in the match to achieve three assisted blocks in addition to her seven kills and senior Jackie Kushman was just short of achieving a double-double, finishing with eight kills and seven digs.

Junior Danielle DiMarco added five kills, seven digs and two assisted blocks and sophomore Carly Conlon and freshman Kourtney Clark totaled 29 of La Salle's 32 assists.

For the Rams, sophomore Jenna Hart led her team with a remarkable .700 hitting percentage (15-1-20) and senior Katherine Burrell tallied a match-high 43 assists. Together, sophomores Katie Wells and Christi Griffiths combined for 24 kills.

On the evening, Fordham outmatched La Salle in kills (61-36), digs (45-31), assists (57-32) and service aces (7-3).

The Explorers (5-22, 1-10) take a break from conference action as they travel to Quinnipiac on Wednesday.
