Colonials Conquer Explorers, 3-0

Washington, DC – With the season ending on Sunday and with two games remaining, the La Salle volleyball team looked to kick Friday off with a victory, but the Colonials of George Washington were just too much as the Explorers fell on the road, 3-0 (25-21, 25-16, 27-25).

Junior Danielle DiMarco led with a team-high 11 digs while senior Tammi Jones followed up with 10 digs of her own. In the match, senior Amy McKeon posted the second-highest hitting percentage at .476 (13-3-21) including a match-high tying two assisted blocks. Senior Jackie Kushman added five kills and nine digs.

Sophomore Carly Conlon contributed 26 of her team’s 34 assists on the evening.

For the Colonials, sophomore Leah Hill was the only participant to record a double-double, ending with a match-high 16 kills and adding 11 digs. Senior Maggie Wright garnered a match-high 16 digs and freshman Alyssa Valentine also achieved a match-high with 36 assists.

The Explorers (6-23, 1-11) end the season on the road Sunday as they get set to face the Charlotte 49ers.
