Charlotte, NC – The La Salle volleyball team looked to end the 2008 season with a victory, but it was the 49ers who ended the day with a win as Charlotte went on to defeat the Explorers at home, 3-1 (19-25, 25-15, 20-25, 20-25).
Senior Jackie Kushman’s 18 digs, which led all Explorers, was the second-highest total on the afternoon. Fellow senior Amy McKeon was one of three Explorers to reach double-digit kills, ending with 14 which marked a team-high. She also recorded another team-high with a .429 hitting percentage (14-2-28), in addition to three digs, two assisted blocks and a solo block.
Junior Danielle DiMarco, who was the only participant on the afternoon to achieve a double-double, finished with 11 kills and 14 digs. Senior Christa Dominick tallied 11 kills while tying a team-high with three assisted blocks. Sophomore Carly Conlon led all Explorers with 32 assists while contributing seven digs.
For the 49ers, senior Carly Romberg led with a match-high 25 digs and senior Courtney Cowles also led with a match-high 38 assists. Junior Jennifer Webb added a match-high six assisted blocks while totaling seven kills. Junior Kaitlin Knight was one dig shy of recording a double-double, ending with 11 kills and nine digs.
The Explorers complete the 2008 season with a 6-24 record, while ending 1-12 in the conference.
