Hamden, CT - It took a maximum of five sets, but the La Salle volleyball team came up victorious over Quinnipiac on Wednesday, as the Explorers went on to defeat the Bobcats on the road, 3-2 (17-25, 25-22, 25-14, 24-26, 15-8).
Senior Jackie Kushman had a career day posting a match-high 19 kills and adding 23 digs. She also contributed three service aces, a solo block, an assisted block and one assist. Fellow senior Christa Dominick added a match-high hitting percentage of .371 (16-3-35) in the win, while tallying five total blocks.
Senior Tammi Jones recorded a match-high 24 digs and junior Danielle DiMarco followed up with 20 of her own.
Overall, the Explorers outmatched Quinnipiac in digs, 86-72. La Salle also led in several other categories including kills (57-43), assists (54-36), service aces (9-7) and assisted blocks (18-12).
Sophomore Carly Conlon and freshman Kourtney Clark added 50 of their team's 54 assists.
For the Bobcats, freshman Kayla Lawler led with a match-high 34 assists, senior Crista Valentino tallied a team-high 22 digs and senior Jenna Benigno and freshman Kelby Carey both collected 11 kills respectively.
The Explorers (6-22, 1-10) venture on their final road trip of the season as they travel to George Washington on Friday, November 14 and then complete the season at Charlotte on Sunday, November 16.
