Philadelphia, PA- The La Salle men's track team is turning up the heat this winter with the fastest times in five different Atlantic 10 events, most notably senior All-American Sean Quigley's (Braintree, MA) 7:52.47 time in the 3000m event, 19 seconds faster than the second-best time.
Quigley also owns the best mile time- 4:01.35- a personal best, an event which the Explorers continue to lead in the A-10 as sophomore Trevon Rainford (Philadelphia, PA) is number two (4:10.16), junior Korey Edwards is number three (4:12.54) and senior David Alfano (West Orange, NJ) is number four (4:12.63). Edwards also has the best time in the 1000m race (2:27.56), while Rainford is right behind him in that event (2:28.37)-both IC4A qualifying times. Edwards holds the second best time in the 800m as he qualified for IC4A's with a 1:53.59 performance at the New Balance Collegiate Invitational this past weekend.
Additionally, Alfano has the second best time in the 3K (8:11.15), the closest any A-10 competitor has come to touching Quigley's 3K performance.
Junior Steven Rendall (Deptford, NJ) is tied for fastest in the 55m hurdles in 7.56, and the Explorer 4x800m relay squad of seniors Bill Ceriello (Poughkeepsie, NY) and Joe Fedorowicz (Abington, PA), along with Rainford and Edwards grabbed the top time (7:38.99) and qualified for the IC4A's.
La Salle will travel next to the A-10 Indoor Track & Field Championships on Saturday, February 16th at the University of Rhode Island.
