PHILADELPHIA - The La Salle University Baseball team dropped an 11-0 decision to the visiting Lafayette Leopards on Tuesday afternoon at Hank DeVincent Field.

John Malloy and Brian Meagher each had a pair of hits in the game, accounting for four of the Explorers six hits in the contest.

Malloy, who reached base three times in the game, also hit one of the Explorers three extra base hits - a triple in the eighth. However, five of La Salle's six hits were with two outs and they left seven men on base.

Jamie Cowan (0-3) got the start for the Explorers and was hurt by a third inning error that allowed two unearned runs to score.

In the fourth, Lafayette's Tom Ambrosole doubled to score the Leopards third run of the game and scored three batters later. Ambrosole went 3-for-4 in the game with four RBI, including a three-run home run in the seventh.

Lafayette (5-2) used six pitchers in the game to combine for 12 strikeouts and the shutout. Kevin Reese (1-1) earned the win for the Leopards.

La Salle (1-12) gets back on the field Wednesday, when they host Villanova at 3 PM.
