PHILADELPHIA, PA - The La Salle women's tennis team closed out its regular season with a 7-0 loss to Drexel on Tuesday afternoon. The Explorers, who dressed only four players due to injuries and illness, now look towards the Atlantic 10 Championships this weekend in Monroeville, PA.

The Dragons won the doubles point, sweeping both matches. The Explorers' No. 1 doubles team of Rachael Barnhart and Lauren Perry put up a fight against the Drexel duo of Emily and Mellissa Lewis, but fell in an 8-6 decision.

Barnhart lost to the Dragons' Gabriela Marginean at No. 1 singles, 6-1, 6-4. Perry, who played with limited mobility due to an ankle injury, dropped her first set at No. 2 by a 6-2 score before forfeiting the match. Martha Kutteh and Katie Drapcho came up short at the third and fourth positions, while La Salle was forced to forfeit the final two singles matches.

The Explorers look to regroup as they head into the A-10 Championships. La Salle opens play against Richmond on Friday morning at 11:30.
