Philadelphia, PA - After a remarkable comeback at St. Peter's on Tuesday night, the La Salle volleyball team looked to add to their winning ways, but a 3-1 (27-25, 25-21, 20-25, 25-16) loss to Iona College and a 3-1 (25-18, 23-25, 25-23, 25-16) loss to the University of Hartford at home on Saturday dropped the Explorers to 3-6 on the season.
After losing the first two sets to Iona, the Explorers rallied from behind and clinched the third set, 25-20. La Salle tried to even things up at two sets apiece, but the Gaels of Iona proved too strong and won the fourth set, 25-16, which ultimately awarded them the match.
Senior Jackie Kushman posted one of her two double-doubles on the day as she tallied 12 kills and 14 digs against Iona. Junior Danielle DiMarco joined Kushman in the double-double category as she registered a team-high 17 digs and added 11 kills.
Later on in the evening, Kushman posted team-highs of 14 kills and 13 digs against Hartford.
Freshman Kourtney Clark tallied 31 of the team's 33 assists against the Hawks of Hartford and fellow freshman Alex Kennedy led all Explorers with three assisted blocks.
