Philadelphia, PA - The La Salle men's tennis team turned their first home match, under the lights, into a victory as they went on to defeat Cabrini College at Belfield Courts on Tuesday, 7-0.
After a loss dating back to last season, senior captain Chris Butera sought revenge against the Cavaliers of Cabrini. Butera went on to defeat Cabrini's Duff O'Connor at number four singles, 6-1, 6-1. Jon Maula's decisive victory at number one singles against Mingkuang Luo, 6-0, 7-6 (7-3), set the tone for the rest of the evening.
"Jon Maula played a flawless game," said La Salle head coach Ed Colfer. "[Jon was] very focused and determined."
Next on the list for the Explorers (3-0) is the Big Five Tournament which will take place on Friday, September 19.
