Villanova, PA - The La Salle volleyball team traveled down the Main Line on Friday to prepare for the Villanova Classic, but the Explorers came up short in their first match of the weekend losing to the University of Penn, 3-0 (25-21, 25-15, 25-17). 
Sophomore Carly Conlon distributed a team-high 15 assists while recording six digs and a kill. Through 11 matches, Conlon leads the team in both assists (191) and assists per set (5.79). 
Senior Jackie Kushman was one dig shy of tying a match-high, finishing with 13. Kushman also filled the box score with five digs, one assist, one service ace and a solo block. 
Senior Amy McKeon, junior Rachel Stemper and freshman Stephanie Milovic all added six kills respectively. Senior Christa Dominick followed up with four kills, three digs and a solo block. Dominick is second on the team in total blocks (20) and kills (71). 
For the Quakers, sophomore Megan Tryon registered 43 of her team's 48 assists. Senior Kathryn Turner posted a .417 hitting percentage (12-2-24) while sophomore Julia Swanson was one dig shy of clinching a double-double, completing the evening with a match-high 20 kills and totaling nine digs. 
The Explorers (3-8) return to Villanova on Saturday to face the Wildcats at 12:30 p.m. and then immediately take on Bucknell University for a 4:30 p.m. start.
