PHILADELPHIA, PA –­­­ Colleen Lechner scored her third goal of the season when she pushed through the first goal of the game 17 minutes and seven seconds into the first half but Bucknell would counter with three unanswered scores to take a 3-1 win from Hank DeVincent Field on Friday afternoon.

Lechner’s goal ended a scrum that saw heavy action in front of the cage when Lindsay Fry collected a rebound and moved it to Lechner who deposited into the left side of the cage.

It took 12 minutes and 42 seconds for the Bison’s Amanda Faust to even the score when she blasted a shot from the top just inside of the circle off of a Katie Ruiz helper.

Bucknell would take the lead in the second half when Kelly Bruvik capitalized on the third of three corners in a three minute span when she found cage from the top right of keeper Emma Ruth at the 52:49 mark of the second half.

Faust then added the insurance goal with her second of the day off of a Megan Krebs assist.

In between the Bison goals Explorer cage minder Ruth turned away a penalty stroke taken by Krebs who tried to go high and left but was stopped to hold the game at 2-1.

Next up for the Explorers is a Tuesday afternoon match-up as they host Bryant at 4:00 PM at DeVincent Field.
