Philadelphia, PA - After defeating the Rams of Rhode Island at home on Friday night, the La Salle volleyball team looked to get past the Rams of Fordham on Saturday, but could not as they fell to their A-10 rival, 3-0 (25-18, 25-22, 25-23). The match, which was originally set to be played at Tom Gola Arena, was moved to McGonigle Hall on the campus of Temple University.
Freshman Jacquelyn Mitrovich led all Explorers in the match with a .417 hitting percentage (7-2-12), while also recording two assisted blocks and a service ace. Fellow freshman Kourtney Clark totaled a team-high 21 assists and collected eight digs.
Senior Tammi Jones led with a team-high 11 digs and junior Rachel Stemper added seven kills, seven digs and two assisted blocks.
Despite the loss, the Explorers collected more service aces (5-0) and more solo blocks (3-0).
For the Rams, sophomores Sara Friede and Jenna Hart combined for 28 of their team's 56 digs and senior Katherine Burrell led everyone in the match with 27 assists.
The Explorers (4-12, 1-2) take a break from conference action on Tuesday, September 30 as they host NJIT at Tom Gola Arena.
