PHILADELPHIA – The La Salle volleyball team rounded out its current three-match homestand with a meeting against Fordham on Saturday, unfortunately, the Rams picked up the win and their first conference victory of the season, 3-0 (25-27, 22-25, 18-25).
The Explorers trailed by one in the first set, 23-22, until a kill by freshman Kelly Scanlon and an attack error on the Rams gave La Salle the lead, 24-23.
Another attack error on Fordham would tie the set up at 25, but two consecutive kills from sophomore Brittany Daulton would give Fordham the win in the first set, 27-25.
Daulton was one kill shy of attaining a double-double for the Rams, ending with nine kills and 11 digs. Junior Christi Griffiths, who was also one kill shy of a double-double, rounded out the afternoon with nine kills, 12 digs, three assists, two block assists and a service ace.
Senior Rachel Stemper led all Explorers with six kills, in addition to six digs and a service ace. Junior Carly Conlon and sophomore Kourtney Clark both contributed 13 assists and four digs respectively and sophomore Stephanie Milovic finished with five kills, three digs, two assists and two block assists.
The Explorers (3-22, 0-7) will visit Saint Louis on Friday, Oct. 23, for a 7:00 p.m. ET match.
