PITTSBURGH – The La Salle volleyball team traveled to Duquesne on Sunday in search of its first conference win of the season, unfortunately, the Explorers were sent back home with a 3-0 loss (14-25, 12-25, 16-25).
Duquesne freshman Sara Scheirman posted the only double-double on the afternoon with totals of 10 kills and 12 digs. Senior Chelsea Tillotson and sophomore Sarah Svorinic combined for 33 assists and junior Katie Goss finished with three kills and nine assists.
Freshman Emily Merrick produced from all ends of the floor for the Explorers, completing the match with five kills, three block assists, one dig and a service ace. Senior Rachel Stemper tied a match-high with 13 digs, junior Carly Conlon led all Explorers with 12 assists and freshman Kelly Scanlon contributed five kills and two block assists.
The Explorers (3-24, 0-9) will visit Charlotte on Friday, Oct. 30, at 7:00 p.m. ET.
