DAYTON – The La Salle volleyball team closed out its weekend in Ohio when they visited Dayton on Saturday evening. Freshman Samantha Tulskie led all participants with 17 digs, but the Explorers could not overcome the Flyers down the stretch as they went on to drop the contest, 3-0 (16-25, 18-25, 11-25).
The Flyers were credited with the sweep by dominating in two particular aspects of the match on Saturday: kills (42-24) and assisted blocks (21-4).
Junior Lindsay Fletemier was one of two Flyers to record five assisted blocks in addition to her match-high 14 kills. Junior Becky Novacek was the second Dayton player to attain five assisted blocks and freshman Hannah Clancy finished with a match-high 20 assists, four digs and two assisted blocks.
Junior Carly Conlon led all Explorers with 12 assists, senior Rachel Stemper recorded eight kills and seven digs and freshman Lauren Noga added six kills.
The Explorers (3-19, 0-4) will have over a week off from competition before returning to action on Tuesday, Oct. 13, when they host Temple at 12 PM.
