Charlotte Hands Explorers 3-0 Loss

CHARLOTTE – The La Salle volleyball team wrapped up its three-match road trip on Friday with a contest against Charlotte, but the 49ers’ .270 attack percentage and 20 block assists proved to be too much for the Explorers as La Salle went on to lose, 3-0 (16-25, 17-25, 19-25).

The Explorers were in the driver’s seat early on in the third set with a 5-3 lead. Later on in the set, an attack error from Charlotte capped off a 4-0 run for La Salle which cut the deficit to two, 18-16. From there, the 49ers increased their lead with a 5-0 run to pull out in front for the victory.

Freshman Breanna Mazalewski led all Explorers with 12 digs and sophomore Stephanie Milovic also posted a team-high with four kills.

Sophomore Kourtney Clark tallied seven assists, six digs, three kills and one block assist, junior Carly Conlon registered eight assists and five digs and senior Rachel Stemper finished with three kills and five digs.

For Charlotte, freshman Jenna Litoborski made a strong contribution with nine kills, seven digs and three block assists and junior Kara Raker filled the stat sheet with a .375 attack percentage (8K-2E-16TA), four digs, four block assists, two service aces and an assist.

The Explorers (3-25, 0-10) will return home to host Xavier on Sunday, Nov. 1, at 1:00 p.m. ET.
