PHILADELPHIA - The La Salle men's soccer team wrapped up its 2009 season on Sunday with a 2-0 loss at Fordham. The Explorers finished the season at 6-10-3 (2-5-2 Atlantic 10), while the Rams move to 9-6-3 (6-1-2 Atlantic 10).

The Explorers were overpowered by a strong Ram squad that wrapped up third place in the Atlantic 10. The Rams outshot the Explorers 20-5, preventing the Explorers from gaining any momentum.

Fordham's Andreas Pafitis scored the game winner in the 25th minute when he took a cross from Phil Ferrantello. John Niyonsaba was also credited with the assist as he headed the ball to Ferrantello.

Pafitis and Ferrantello teamed up again for the insurance goal in the 51st minute. Brett Heyder crossed the ball to Ferrantello, who attempted a header into the goal. Pafitis picked up the deflection and finished the score.

In addition to the Rams' 20-5 shot advantage, they won the corner kick game 10-3 as well.

Kyle Quigley (Millersville, MD/Severna Park) picked up another 10 saves on Sunday. Ryan Meara earned the decision in goal for the Rams and made three saves.
