Box Score

Philadelphia, PA – The La Salle lacrosse team kicked off their 2009 season with a home match against the Colgate Raiders, unfortunately, the Explorers could not come up with the victory and lost in the end, 16-1.

The Explorers’ only goal on the day came from junior co-captain Jill Davis. Fellow classmate and co-captain Stefany McKee got three shots off on the afternoon with two shots on goal. She also recorded three groundballs and controlled the draw twice. 

Sophomore Ashley Rutz led all Explorers with four ground balls and freshman Nora McGurkin chipped in with three. In goal, both sophomore Mara Schnellenbach and freshman Megan Corliss tallied five saves apiece.

Six of Colgate’s 16 goals were awarded to junior Meghan Lawler and freshman Courtney Miller who each scored three goals respectively.

The Explorers (0-1) embark on a three-game road swing, beginning on Wednesday, as they prepare to face city-rival Drexel at 4:00 PM.
