Box Score

DAYTON, OH – La Salle Women’s Basketball dropped the second game of its Ohio trip on Saturday afternoon at the University of Dayton Arena, 71-49, to the host Flyers in Atlantic 10 action.

Morgan Robertson notched a double-double in the losing effort, her 11th of the season, while Jamie Walsh led the Explorers with 11 points.

The Explorers came out hot, hitting their first three shots to build a quick five-point advantage. Antonia Gale opened the game with a three followed by a Walsh three.

After Dayton scored its first points – a three – Robertson knocked down a jumper just 1:54 into the game and La Salle led 8-3.

The Flyers responded with 21 unanswered points and held La Salle scoreless for almost seven minutes to take a 24-8 lead. Kristin Daugherty scored eight in the run – which included a pair of threes – and Marie Rosche tallied seven.

Margaret Elderton ended the run with a 15-foot jumper and after Walsh hit another three to pull La Salle to within 12 (26-14), the Flyers rattled off seven straight points to push their lead to 19.

Dayton (16-12, 5-7 A-10) took an 18-point lead into the locker rooms (36-18) thanks in part to a 14-0 advantage in points in the paint. They also held a 14-2 edge in points off of turnovers despite the fact both squads had seven in the first half.

The Flyers scored five straight points after the break to push their lead to 23 and the Explorers would never get closer than 20 the rest of the way.

La Salle (10-17, 1-11 A-10) will return home for its last game at Tom Gola Arena this season when the Explorers host Duquesne on Wednesday night.
